About the Course

A fun and practical two-day sewing intensive designed for complete beginners! Across the weekend, you’ll gain the confidence to use a sewing machine, understand essential stitches, seam finishes, fabrics, and patterns, and complete two projects to take home.

🔹 Bring your own sewing machine (must be in good working order). If you don’t have one, let me know—I can provide one for you.
🔹 All tools (thread, scissors, rulers, etc.) will be provided for use during the course.
🔹 Fabric for the tote bag is included. You’ll need to bring fabric for your final project (guidance will be provided).

What You’ll Learn

🧵 Day 1 – Sewing Basics & Tote Bag

• How to set up and use your sewing machine
• Winding a bobbin & threading your machine
• Adjusting tension & troubleshooting
• Basic stitches & seam finishes
  
• Make a simple tote bag
• Break for lunch (1 hour)
• Fabric 101: understanding grainlines, selvage, and bias
• Introduction to sewing patterns: how to read, cut, and prepare them
• Get your trousers pattern ready to sew on Day 2

👖 Day 2 – Your Final Project

• Cut and sew your trousers or shorts
• Learn to add pockets
• Break for lunch (1 hour)
• Finishing techniques for a polished look
• Leave the weekend with a completed garment and the confidence to keep sewing!
